company monitoring
Monitor a company without checking it yourself
Put the companies you do business with on a list. KVKBase checks them every day and tells you when something changes: a move, a new name, a different legal form, a bankruptcy or a deregistration.
Why monitor companies
Business register data is a snapshot. A customer that existed last year may have moved, renamed itself or stopped trading. If you only find out when an invoice bounces or a delivery goes wrong, you are late.
Walking through every relation by hand takes time and in practice does not happen. A watchlist turns it around: you only hear something when there is something to hear.
How it works
You add companies by KvK number, one at a time or in bulk from a list or CSV. The first check records the starting position and sends no alert. After that we compare the current data with that baseline every day, field by field.
If something differs you get one alert per change, with the old and the new value. A check costs you no tokens: monitoring is part of your plan, with a fixed number of watch slots.
- Add a company with just its KvK number
- The first check is a baseline, without an alert
- A comparison every day, per field
- An alert carries the old and the new value
What you can build with it
Through the API you manage the list from your own system, for example by watching customers automatically as soon as they appear in your CRM or accounting software. The webhook pushes changes straight into your own software. If you only want an email, an account with email alerts is enough.
For one-off lookups the regular lookup still applies. Monitoring is what you add on top for companies you want to follow over time.
What we watch
Each watched company is compared with its previous state once a day. These are the fields that can trigger an alert:
- Name
- Statutory name and trade name
- Address
- Street, postcode and city
- Legal form
- For example from sole proprietorship to BV
- Status
- Active or dissolved
- Insolvency
- Bankruptcy or suspension of payments, as the source reports it
- SBI codes
- The registered activities
- Directors
- Only when the source provides them for that company
- VAT number
- Valid or invalid at VIES, when a VAT number is known
How alerts reach you
- One email per change, straight away. Or switch to a daily digest, grouped per company.
- Signed webhook
- Each change as JSON over HTTPS, with a timestamp and an HMAC-SHA256 signature you can verify.
- API
- Read your watchlist and the alert history with your API key, and export it as CSV from the dashboard.
Checks run daily, not in real time. The first check of a company is a baseline and sends no alert.
